Last week we covered several do’s and don’ts when it comes to logo design. A logo is supposed to be instantly recognizable and illicit thoughts about your business. These thoughts and opinions stem from your company’s reputation. Your reputation and what your business is supposedly standing for, is your company’s branding. Your logo is one small part of your company’s branding. This week, we’re going to talk about what goes into creating a brand, broken down into five easy steps.

What you do, and how you do it, is a big part of your brand. When people think of your company, they will have a picture in their heads about how good your customer service is, about how well your employees know their product knowledge, and about anything to do with your employees really. That’s why it is best to come up with an internal culture for your business. This will be the guidelines that your employees will use to dictate how they act and treat your customers, as well as how they dress and groom themselves. If one of your customers has had a bad experience in any area, they will think of that when they see anything related to your brand.

Visual elements play a large part in it. Logo design, and any phrases that go along with it will be the recognizable parts of your business that will prompt the thought of all of the other elements of your brand.

What your value is to your customers is also something that will come to mind. What need do you fill? How well do you fill it? Do you guarantee your work? Are you someone that they can count on? You should know what your value is and learn how to promote it so that when someone thinks about your business, they think of all the value that your business holds for them.
