New menu styles for website
By

website design santa rosa

There have been great advances made in website design related to the navigational menus. Not so many years ago, the menus were listed on the left end column of every website. Eventually (with the arrival of landscape style computer screens and laptops), the menus were moved to the top of each page to accommodate with these new screen shapes and dimensions.

Then came the drop down menus… At the time we thought this was the coolest thing ever. Think of it as the mullet haircut. At some point you may have thought it was cool too.

Fastforward a few years and now in 2014-2015 new menus are arriving.

Some new trends:

– Multi line menus with top menu with a subtitle below

– Menu with transparent background which allows the visitors to see the image behind while still making the menu titles readable.

– Cool dynamic elements when opening menus such as the menu title arriving one by one

– Large powerful drop down menus where we can embed videos and images.

– Etc.

Large drop down menus:

This is the style we would like to discuss today because we can now make these types of menus fully responsive to mobile devices like smart phones and tablets.

What is fantastic about this new style of coding and new trends is that you can really designed it any way you want and make it quite beautiful and powerful.

We can place not only styled images but even embed videos directly from YouTube.  In addition the large menu can be made to fit automatically the full width of the visitor’s screensize thanks to new responsive design code. As mentioned earlier, it can be made responsive to tables like iPads and Samsun as well as phones like iPhone and Android.

There are many other new web trends for navigational menus but the large drop down multi-functional menus is by far the more exciting for our web design team and our customers.

If you would like to add such menu to your site or are in need of a brand new website, you came to the right place. Email us or call us today at (707) 794-9999 (Pacific Standard Time).
